Tim Henman Grand Slam career ended with a disappointment. Playing in his last Grand slam tournament, he was defeated by Jo-Wilfried Tsonga 7-6 2-6 7-5 6-4 at the US Open. After losing the first set in the tiebreak, Henman fight back in the second. But Tsonga was just too good for the player whose playing career was somewhat inconsistent.
Most of the tennis experts were of the opinion that Henman will win more than 5 Grand slams but sadly he wasn’t able to win a single Grand Slam. Once again the case of not utilizing the talent but whatever be the case Henman played some scintillating tennis especially in Wimbledon where he carries British hopes admirably for more than a decade.
According to Henman,
I’ve had a fantastic career. Playing in front of crowds like this make it so special to the players and that’s something I’ll miss. Relief is not quite the right word but I am ready to get on with the next part of my life.
Henman will now play for the last time in the Davis Cup tie against Croatia, which starts on 21 September at Wimbledon.
