India - do we here believe only in commercialization? Team India is the word associated solitary with the Indian cricket team, why is the game so popular in India? - The country except the World Cup in 1983, hasn’t done anything splendid still the game’s a religion here.

What as sports fanatics do we want here in India - is something I have failed to understand since I have had the passion to understand sports. Repeatedly I interact with people around finding some resolute answer to my question but have always failed in the attempt - all I have got is, it’s shown over the satellite, it reaches us so we appreciate it.

There are many arenas in the Indian sport that have brought repeated laurels to the country - yet nothing changes for them however, a layman here will surely have his expertise for cricket. The cricketers here grow wealthier and other sports have struggled for amenities to compete at the world stage.

If we want the country to be a competitive force in the world events - the authorities definitely need to work evenly for all sports or else...the youth in the near future will refrain from sports in India.

Now, for what got me driven into that I have mentioned above - Kabaddi has been a sport played from eternity in India, players have practiced on mud courts and competed on the World sphere, still managing repetitive success. Just very recently, the synthetic courts have been constructed here. I wont talk of long back but will sure acquaint you, that Indian Kabaddi team won a gold at the just concluded Asian games in Doha and now has reached the finals a the World Cup being played in Mumbai.

What does this state to you, it impossible for me to comprehend - though to me it means that players and sports like Kabaddi require immediate commercialization, if that’s what derives fanaticism here, or soon these lesser sports will have no future in the country... hope the Indian authorities concerned work for the cause and for that you and me - we all need to get these sports earn some recognitions in here.
