The Dane, Michael Rasmussen is all prepared for a prompt comeback to the international professional cycling, just one month after being fired by team Rabobank, while leading this year’s Tour de France for allegedly lying about his whereabouts to evade doping tests.
Continuing to protest his innocence, Rasmussen said:
I’m the victim of a great injustice and my lawyers are working to take care of me. My goal is to find a team because I would like to have a great Giro di Lombardia. I’m an available rider that can start racing even tomorrow.
Team Rabobank holds much to be blamed for Rasmussen’s exit at the middle of the contest since after having any doubts on the rider why did the team pick him at the very start.
Accompanied by doping allegations and suspicions the Tour de France-2007 was entirely blemished as three riders, including Rasmussen and two teams were barred during the three-week sprint.
Rasmussen is also involved in negotiations with Italy’s Acqua & Sapone team to discuss his possibility of a placement and is set to give a strong reply to his Dutch team.
Giro di Lombardia, the final single-day classic of the season, is scheduled for October 20.
