It is NBA Renaissance for the two-time All-American and the 2002 Associated Press College Player of the Year... His career was in jeopardy for three years after he met with a serious motorcycle accident, and was admitted to the hospital for 31/2 months with fractured pelvis, torn knee ligaments, and had suffered nerve damage in the left leg.
Jay Williams was a member of the Chicago Bulls before the crash... but the Bulls bought out his contract because of him being unavailable... Since recovering, he has tried working out with several NBA teams in the hope of getting a guaranteed contract but nothing had worked out for him until now.
However, the good time seems to have returned for Williams...He has signed a contract with New Jersey Nets, which gives him the right to attend training camps with the squad...Though the deal is not yet guaranteed... I have full faith in Williams’ ability; he will surely prove his fitness to become a new member with the Nets.
