
Czechoslovakia-born US Tennis legend Martina Navratilova has reveled that she would retire from professional tennis by the end of this season. Navratilova who turns 50 this October has reached this decision after spending almost 33 years in the professional tennis.
Navratilova is in the doubles quarterfinals at the All England Club pairing with Liezel Huber. She beat the Elena Likhovtseva- Anastasia Myskina combine in the fourth round match. She is also in the mixed doubles quarterfinals with Mark Knowles.
Navratilova has declared her retirement for the second time. Way back to 1994, she retired from professional tennis with a record 167 singles titles. She holds the record of maintaining the number one position in WTA rankings for 331 weeks.
With this announcement, the fans will no more watch her action Wimbledon from next season. However, her success will continue to motivate the tennis stars forever.
