He was Mr. Invincible, a force to recon with on court, but it seems he’s found the one who knows, how to present the master with the taste of his own medicine.
If once it was incredible, twice it’s even more so - only over a fortnight, in two different tournaments Guillermo Canas has done the unfeasible.
Canas defeated the World No. 1 Roger Federer, in a 7-6 (7-2) 2-6 7-6 (7-5) classic encounter to advance into the quarterfinals of the Miami Masters.

Federer the double defending champion at Miami Masters also lost to Canas in straight sets in the second round of the Indian Wells Open at the beginning of the month.
The flawless, 25-year-old Swiss made an unusual 51 unforced errors in the game as Canas played some exceptional tennis from the base line to score an uncharacteristic (perhaps unwise to say so) win over Federer.
With the win, keeping Federer from becoming only the second man to win the tournament thrice on trot - Canas advances into the next round where he faces Tommy Robredo in quest to continue his dream run.
