Svetlana Kuznetsova scripted history on Tuesday for her remarkable 7-5, 6-0 victory over Dinara Safina to reach French Open semifinals for the first time.



Russ girl Safina, the 14-seeded star playing her first Grand Slam quarterfinal startled Svetlana initially and took lead. Failed to maintain the grip, Safina won only three points in the second set. Safina conceded 36 unforced errors. For which Svetlana got an edge to tackle the 14-seeded player.



With this resounding victory, Svetlana has aspired to bag her second Grand Slam. The 10-seeded Russian won the 2004 US open.
