French Open men’s single is going to end in a thrilling finish with two leading players Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer ready to lock horns for the crown.

Defending champion Rafael Nadal who holds number 2 position in the ATP ranking defeated Ivan Ljubicic 6-4 6-2 7-6 (9-7) in the second semi-final while world number one Roger Federer eased David Nalbandian to meet Nadal in Sunday’s final.

The top-ranked Federer’s 27 consecutive wins in Grand Slam matches and Nadal’s record 59 wins in a row on clay have added much excitement to the final match.

Swiss superstar Federer commented,

To play in our first Grand Slam final against each other, I think that’s quite special, you know, No 1 and No 2 in the world.

If Federer defeats Nadal in the final, he would become third sportsperson to acquire all four Grand Slam titles at the same time clubbing with Don Budge and Rod Laver.
