Tim Henman
Tim Henman fought very hard to save the bad light-affected second round match. However, he failed in his mission. The California based Russian Tursnov made unassailable lead in the first two sets 6-3, 6-2. Then bad light halted play. When play resumed, Henman put some pressure on Tursnov and won the third set 4-6. In the decider fourth set, Henman could not come up to the expectation. Tursunov take away the match with a 6-3, 6-2, 4-6, 6-4 victory. Henman has now lost to Tursunov in three of the four Grand Slams.

Following the defeat, Henman vehemently criticized the match officials for the scheduling of his second-round match. He felt distress over the stop of the game despite play continuing on other courts. Henman made a lengthy on-court conversation with the officials before the play was called off. It was just a shambles, explained Henman in a crowded press conference after the match.
