A drug outburst in the United States has become a national shame - termed as the ‘East Coast Balco‘ - wherein according to the report of the Albany Times-Union, accused a Florida based pharmaceutical firm arresting the chief executive and few other pharmacists of alleged involvement in trafficking steroids and performance enhancing drugs to athletes and celebrities over the internet.
The report had accused the Los Angles Angels outfielder Gary Matthews Jr. and former Baseball star Jose Canseco of being customers to the pharmacy. Over the years Major League Baseball and National League Football has seen many individuals charged with the offence of using performance booster - there maybe least denying the fact that boxing (the most enduring sport) would have ever been at bay to it, but the latest outbreak is just catastrophic.

Former World Heavyweight Champion Evander Holyfield has been linked with the illegal steroid distribution network. Reports indicate that someone under the name of ‘Evan Fields’ had ordered a variety of steroids - the clutches tighten on Holyfield’s neck as he shares the same date of birth as ‘Evan’ October 19, 1962.
Holyfield has only won four bouts from the last ten he has competed in; he has been in and out of professional boxing, though has urged to return to the ring and is scheduled to meet Vinny Maddalone in a heavyweight collision on the March 17. Answering the quest for return, he said,
It’s not about money. My goal is to become the undisputed heavyweight world champion, and I will fight anyone....as long as the money is right.
What justifies Holyfield’s return, if not steroid then what? - If you have followed his career (or for those who haven’t), the bulk that he has on his frame since he started professionally has grown just like those titles, it’s difficult to comprehend workout behind it - then next is...?
Holyfield denying the allegations said,
I do not use steroids. I have never used steroids. I resent that my name has been linked to known steroid users by sources who refuse to be identified in order to generate publicity for their investigation.
The ‘Warrior’ as they call him is the only boxer to have won the heavyweight championship a record four times, has overpowered sixteen world champions and is undoubtedly the best cruiserweight Camp ever - but his pursuit of being the undisputed heavyweight world champion my remain a distant reality. He was banned from the ring in New York on medical grounds in 2004 and here again, he is entangled in a drug trap.
