It’s been over a year since he last fought ...But the 29-year-old, WBC lightweight champion Diego Corrales considers the long rest to have benefited him...He is all set to take on Joel Casmayor the number one contender for his title.
The two are scheduled to meet in Las Vegas on 7th October... The fight promises a lot as the champ describes it as going to war... He is fit and better than ever before and looks determined to make a sound comeback to defend his title. Corrales said,
It was a needed break. I had camps in between to stay sharp. I am happy, my body feels good. I will continue to put on great shows. October seven will be the same thing. I have one job October seven, and it’s Joel Casamayor.
The two have met twice before and have won a bout a piece... So this build up for the October clash speaks volumes in itself... Hope we get to see a great fight and that the champion can retain the title.
