Who would have even believed that the World Series would end up this way, even a Cardinals die hard fanatic wouldn’t have ever imagined that the Cards could ever come out with something so special.
The Tigers had a fairy-tale season running, they had reached a World Series first time in 22 years, but they were stunned at how it all ended for them. They could do nothing more than just haplessly stare at the Redbirds, who barely made it to the postseason, but clinched an emphatic World Series win despite all odds.
The St. Louis Cardinals claimed their first Series title in nearly a quarter-century, beating the Detroit Tigers 4-2 in Game 5, claming the biggest prize of all, ending at the apex of things, adding a 10th World Series title to their credentials.
It has been a long but indeed a rewarding journey for the Cards, what could have been better than hoisting the World Series Title...cheers Redbirds great going!!
