In his 17th NFL season, Favre threw for 369 yards and three touchdowns, giving him 420 in his career to tie Dan Marino for the all-time record leading the Packers to a 31-24 triumph over Turner’s Chargers. Matching the mark in dramatic fashion Favre found Greg Jennings over the middle for a 57-yard score, with two minutes remaining, to guide Packers all the way.
A week ago, Favre conquered the 149th game of his career, breaking the record for most wins. A young and aggressive defense in the NFL put the chains on the Eagles with a 16-13 win and later thrashed the Giants 35-13. All the games showed how much the Packers have grown by toppling the three teams that were in the playoffs a year ago.
Favre at a news conference said:
Up to this point it does. Today was one of those gut-it-out performances all the way around. I think people watching us will say that it wasn’t a fluke.
With few more matches up their sleeves will the Packers be able to work magic like they are doing right now?
