Each time Agassi steps on the court at the US OPEN, he knows it could be his last match as a professional, he is not ready to quit without putting up a fight.



He fully exibited this in his match against Andrei Pavel of Romania as he kept overcoming deficits one after the other, pushing his 36-year-old body around Arthur Ashe Stadium for 3 1/2 hours.



Agassi played some outstandig tennis to win the first match of his last tournament, coming from 1 set down to beat his 32 year old opponent 6-7, 7-6, 7-6, 6-2, before his eyes welled up with tears.



His wife and former star Steffi Graf was there watching the game and cheering her man on every point. Though this was fairly an easy game for Agassi but will he be able to put up a similar show with some of his younger opponents, and survive for the whole two weeks as he wishes to?
